I just had to choose this title because that is what this book says the whole way through. From one character to the next, God was at work transforming each one. And He starts and ends it with one beautiful little three year old girl named Peyton. It's sorta like (Play it Forward), watching as each transformation takes place. Max never planed to be a father at his age. He is footloose and fancy free and It would only cramp his style. Though there was one person in his past that he could not forget. Her name was sarah, Peyton's mother. Sarah is dying and has one last chance to try for a cure. But, first she knew what she had to do. To take Peyton to meet and stay with her father, Max. At first Max was horrified. He knew nothing about children. So in comes Alyssa. She's Sarah's best friend and she had promised to keep an eye on Peyton and make sure she is being properly taken care of. Alyssa is a hard nosed, beautiful single student working on her degree. She had no time for men like Max. A playboy who only cares about himself. But, she loves Sarah and Peyton so she's willing to be around him for Peyton's sake. But, as Max gets to know and falls in love with Peyton, Â and Peyton teaches him about God, he starts to look at the life he was leading and the consequences of the choices he had made. He realized that he was not only hurting himself but all those around him. Although it's too late for him to make amends for the past, he has been given a new opportunity to do things the right way. If he doesn't mess it up.Wonderful, wonderful story. I recommend it. You will not be able to put it down. I know I couldn't.
Maxwell is a billionaire playboy with a different woman in his bed every night and he likes it that way until one night a woman from his pass, Sandra knocks on his door with his three year old daughter. Max never saw himself with children but when Sandra explains she has cancer and needs to go away for treatment he knows he has no choice but to take his daughter in. Alyssa is Sandra’s friend who he can call is he needs help and call her he did and he is attracted to her but she wants nothing to do with him because of his ways and the fact he is a non believer. Max knows he needs to change for his daughter but also for himself and he has Alyssa to thank for that but will it be enough for her to want to go out with him. Loved this story about redemption and forgiveness all wrapped up in a sweet romance.Received from the author and this is my honest and unbiased opinion.
I was only able to get a quarter of the way through this and I wanted to smack the guy! He is so selfish. I get that this is supposed to be setting him up for a big change in his life but regardless of his womanizing ways he didn’t seem to have any redeeming qualities and yet the women just fall at his beautiful feet! Arrr!Spoiler alert: he doesn’t even know the bimbos name that he is trying to seduce. He thinks abortion is the answer to inconvenience. He claims to have loved the mother of his child and was contemplating marriage yet she comes to his door with this surprise kid because she is dying and he just lets her leave. What, no sympathy. No offer to spend a tiny portion of his billions to get her the best care available. He is a #*%!In conclusion, it is probably an okay book but not my cup of tea.
This story starts out a lot like other billionaire romance stories. It isn't long before the christian aspect is introduced and expanded as the story went on. The characterization was spot on and the pacing kept me waiting to see what would happen next.Lorana Hoopes (author), the narrator, did a great job with the portrayal and voices of the characters. I did feel that the rate of speech could have been a little slower, at times it felt like she was reading the story quickly instead of telling the story naturally. Overall a great job.I recieved a Audible copy of this story, at my request, in exchange for a honest review.
Mrs. Hoopes has created such a wonderful Christian love series of book. I love the plots and the message in all of them. If you have teenagers this is a safe read for them.
A Can't Put Down Great READ!Once again author Lorana Hoopes shows us why her books are worth the read. In this novel I saw God's heart-print on every page. Max would Chase the ladies and couldn't always remember their names. He has lived Sarah but she left. Then he came home one night with a date and Sarah showed up with his little girl Payton, she needed to go to New York for cancer treatments. Alyssa was Sarah's friend and was willing to help. But she also helped Max find his way to church and love.
I loved this Christian story. While there is some sadness in the book, there are many more happy times to make up for it. The story had good character development, and seeing God change so many lives in the book was well written and believable. Great book to curl up and read on a rainy day.
